On September 8, the V Moscow Financial Forum was held at the platform "Implementation of the strategy for improving financial literacy of the Russian Federation". The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow.

The Forum was attended by Natalia Bryukhanova, Acting Minister of Finance of the Ulyanovsk Region, who shared her experience in improving financial literacy by involving the population of the region in thematic events organized on a monthly basis in the Ulyanovsk Region.

In order to work more productively as part of the implementation of the strategy for improving financial literacy and shaping the future financial lifestyle, a Center for the Development of Tax Culture and Financial Literacy was established on the basis of the Regional Ministry of Finance in 2020. Thanks to the work of the Center, it was possible to establish interdepartmental interaction of executive authorities, educational and social institutions, large city-forming enterprises and federal structures. The Center's work is also aimed at reducing the number of subjects employed in the "shadow" sector of the economy and promoting a positive image of the taxpayer.

"In the near future, it is planned to develop an effective mechanism for the introduction and implementation of the practices of initiative budgeting, which will help to involve residents of the Ulyanovsk region in the budget process," Natalia Bryukhanova stressed.
